Almond Flour

Food and Travel (Singapore) - - Cook's Basics -

Naturally grain-free, almond flour, which is simply blanched almonds ground into a meal, is high in protein, vitamin E, and heart-healthy fats. This paleofriendly flour is best used in dense baked goods, such as gluten-free brownies, pancakes and muffins. It is also a good replacement for recipes that require bread crumbs, such as in meatballs, crab cakes, or as coating for chicken or fish. One thing to note though is that almond flour has to be stored in the refrigerator or freezer after it has been opened from the packaging, as they spoil easily.
