His willingness and dedication to his art, constantly improving himself

and keeping ahead of the trends has served him well. Being part of the stylist and trainers team, Aaron Phua fronted the launch of the new Future Foundation collection. Sharing

with H4UFME, the young man of his calibre detailed his inspiration behind the collection and the key to his

success with TONI&GUY. What is the purpose of the New Future Foundation Collection Internal Launch tonight? Aaron: The purpose of the Future Foundation Collection Internal Launch is to get the company together to educate all of our stylists and head towards the same direction. It is to teach the future generations so that everyone will learn the same things where it is being standardized.

What was the inspiration behind the new Future Foundation Collection? A: The classic collections for Future Foundation are reviewed once every four years- so as to keep up with the trends and get the younger generation interested in hairdressing. So, by keeping it abreast with the trends, we are making it interesting for them. As this is the Future Foundation Collection- which means its basic and classic-, through reviewing it, we get to bring together the stylists from every TONI&GUY salons in Singapore and re-train them, something like a refresher's course.

Any new collections that we can look forward to? A: You can expect a new collection, specifically the creative collections. So for now, we are waiting to receive the collection and unfortunately, we don't have any information yet.

When will the creative collection launch? A: We just launched the creative collection late last year and will follow through with it for the whole of this year. The new collection will be up in November 2015. The creative collection is launched every year and it depends on the London team. So, the process is: Once the London side come up with it, we head to London and bring the look to Singapore, do a show and present to our staffs.

Will we be seeing more of such hairstyles in public soon? A: Of course, but this is just our classics collection. There's also a ‘creative collection'; so, there's versatility whether you're a more classic or creative person.

Was it beneficial to have all the stylists come together for this presentation? A: This is the first internal launch that TONI&GUY Singapore have done to introduce the future foundation (classics) collection. And it is also a time for all the stylists from different TONI&GUY salons to get together. Based on my understanding, most of our stylists are trained in different ways even though we are from the same company. This launch is a way to combine everything into one - so; everyone will head in the same direction.

Is this the first time TONI&GUY staffs attended an internal launch meeting? A: Just to be clear, this is not the first time TONI&GUY Singapore held an internal staff launch but it is the first for Classics. We actually come down to meet every year, whereas for ‘creative collection', every year we launch a collection based on London side. But for our classic collection, because we don't always change it so this is in a way because we added new stuff, new haircut, new colour techniques, so what we did is we got everyone together to introduce to them that this is how we change this is the basic, the fundamentals, which is the most important. This is what we teach to them first before they go on creative.

How would you define TONI&GUY's success? A: For me, it's not just about an individual because you can only be strong as a team. So, when your team is strong and united enough, then there will be success. I think TONI&GUY's success is when we all head towards the same direction with the same heart and mind.
