COURAGE TO CONTINUE
I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I’ve since had a mastectomy and am currently undergoing chemotherapy. Although I’ve tried to remain optimistic since the diagnosis, I’ve also sunk into depression and have experienced mood swings due to the chemo. It’s been torturous for both mind and body, so I told the oncologist to stop the chemo at the fourth cycle instead of completing the recommended six cycles. However, after reading your article My Dad Had Breast Cancer – and So Did I (Oct 2015), I no longer feel alone, as there are indeed many breast cancer survivors who have battled the disease successfully. I have thus decided to complete the entire six cycles of chemo to decrease the risk of a relapse – no matter how tough it will be. The article gave me the courage to move on bravely, for my family and for myself. I am sure many women will benet from reading it. Thanks, Her World.
