Herworld (Singapore) - - BEAUTY -

Matte liquid lipsticks may be all the rage now, but luxury Japanese beauty brand Cle de Peau Beaute looks set to change the game with its latest offering. How so? Its new Radiant Liquid Rouge liquid lipstick ($80) is all about high shine. Its formula has a cocktail of oils, pigments and moisturising skincare ingredients, and it glides on like a dream – yes, even on dry, aky lips – to leave your pout looking plump and seriously shiny.

Another thing I love: once the colour is applied, it stays put and doesn’t budge – not even when you apply multiple coats with the soft, ocked wand – so you can achieve a bold, creamy and intense nish with ease. While the colour isn’t exactly transfer-proof, it’s long-lasting enough to last through a meal, which is pretty impressive in my books. And when it does fade – after two to three hours of wear – it leaves an even stain, not a patchy one.

There are eight different hues for you to choose from, with two standout ones that are sure to be crowd-pleasers: Lingerie, a attering pink nude, and Lempicka Red, a deep scarlet. The latter is named after the inspiration for the lippie: 1920s art deco painter and socialite Tamara de Lempicka, whose artwork featured femme fatale-type subjects with expressive eyes, sharp features and (most importantly) perfectly painted red pouts. Honestly, we couldn’t have picked a better muse ourselves.
