“My boyfriend and I are the sort of travellers who nd joy in literally going that extra mile for good pictures.
During one trip in Australia, we wanted to catch a shot of the Horse Head Rock, a rock formation along the beach that looks a lot like a horse drinking out of the sea.
It’s located along the beach outside a small coastal town called Bermagui, about a six-hour drive from Sydney. We drove there at night, and didn’t think the tide would be so high. We climbed over rocks in the darkness to get the best angle while trying not to be washed over by the waves. When we got the shot we wanted, I felt a huge sense of accomplishment. Doing a road trip meant we were able to explore places like that at odd hours, which may not have been as accessible to us if we had been on a tour.”
