Replace your face moisturiser with a morning mask

A morning mask is the latest innovation from Laneige. A daytime counterpart to the brand’s popular sleeping mask, it hydrates skin to prevent excessive sebum production.

The Laneige Fresh Calming Morning Mask ($38) is a leave-on mask that forms the last step of your morning skincare routine before sun protection. Use it in place of your moisturiser, or after it if your skin needs extra hydration. The hydrating mask soothes skin, helps makeup stay on longer, and is rich in antioxidants, which can reduce skin-cell damage caused by free radicals and UV rays. It also has deep-sea water, whose minerals (like magnesium and zinc) can improve the skin’s moisture barrier. The mask helps control oil production in oily-combination skin and oily-but-dehydrated skin. It dispenses as a mousse and transforms into a watery gel when you pat it into your skin. A dollop about half the size of a golf ball is enough to cover your face. It takes about one minute to be absorbed.

The range also includes Fresh Calming Gel Cleanser ($30), Fresh Calming Toner ($40) and Fresh Calming Serum ($48), all free of additives like mineral oil, animalorigin ingredients and synthetic pigments to reduce the likelihood of skin irritation.
