DON’T JUST GO WHERE ROAD TAKES YOU
Plot your must-see places on the map, and draw a route linking up each spot. Once you’ve drawn up that rough route, start adding other places to visit that are near it. This will help you stay organised. Also, make sure your route starts and ends at the airport, so you don’t end up driving for a long stretch when it’s time to head home – you’ll already be exhausted by then, so why drain yourself further? Another planning tip – stock up on snacks and bottled water. When you’re on the road in a vast country, it’s possible to drive for hours without passing a single town, motel or gas station.
