Dior Backstage: pro makeup for everyday women.

Two things matter when it comes to makeup: skills and tools. Since not everyone is a makeup artist, we need products that bring the flawless looks of the runway into real life.

Dior’s new Backstage makeup line is made for both pros and everyday women, and consists of foundation, brushes, and face, brow, eye and lip palettes. It’s an extension of the brand’s Backstage Pro line introduced in 2012, and the brainchild of Peter Philips, the creative and image director for Dior Makeup. “I redesigned all the indispensable items in my makeup bag, both for makeup artists and for every woman who wants a professional result with intuitive products and easy-touse tools,” he says.

Key to Backstage is the Face & Body Foundation. It comes in 21 shades and covers a spectrum of six skin undertones (neutral, warm, warm peach, cool, cool rosy, and warm olive).

It’s waterproof as well as resistant to heat and humidity, which means it’s great in Singapore’s weather. It has a natural yet buildable finish that makes your complexion look smooth and clean. You’ll look better than good, even if your makeup skills are just basic. You can also apply the foundation on your decolletage or shoulders to hide imperfections. The foundation is $65, while the Backstage range costs $45 to $105.
