CHECK OUT – LE PETIT SOCIETY
KIDSWEAR STORE IN THE CBD
Kidswear store in the CBD.
If it wasn’t for the tulle dresses and toy houses at the shopfront, you wouldn’t have guessed that this wood-and-white boutique belonged to Le Petit Society, a local childrenswear and accessories label by Robyn Liang and Dylan Ong.
The mum-and-dad duo design comfy clothing that steer away from conventionally kiddy looks, while still being fun, versatile and age-appropriate. Their first boutique looks the part, too, with a minimalist, industrial-Scandi store design that features natural and textures surfaces like concrete screed, copper accents and raw plywood.
“We wanted a delightful environment that was attractive to both kids and adults. The twilight sky-inspired ceiling adds a playful touch, while the party table is perfect for parents to get together,” says Yanling Tay, founder of Ta.le Architects, which designed the shop. To create a sense of wander and wonder, the boutique is peppered with triangular silhouettes and motifs that resemble mountains. Ta.le Architects also designed The Playpen, an angular structure made up of modular pieces; primarily used as a display case, it can be transformed into a cosy storytelling corner or a shoe-fitting area.
Le Petit Society’s trendy range of clothing, accessories and toys fill the store with a vibrant array of colours, while the pom-poms and grille gate give the shop an eclectic touch.
