There is no doubt about where IUI got the inspiration for their NFC-enabled wireless speaker. The Mini Mirror is shaped like a Mini’s (the car, if you still haven’t gotten it by now) sideview mirror, even going as far as to sport a mirror finish for the front face. The obvious hint is the use of Mini branding, and a Brithsh flag pattern adorning the speakers all around.

Of course, when the speakers emit a “vroom” sound when powering it up is when IUI takes things a little too far. A simple beep would have sufficed.

Along with the Beats Pill, the Mini Mirror make up a duo of the smallest speakers in the roundup. The small size also means that the Mini Mirror delivers just 8W of power, and is suited more for personal use rather than filling a room with sound.

Audio quality was slightly disappointing; weak mids meant that the overall tone of the speakers lacked substance. Tracks such as Melt My Heart To Stone sounded hollow and lacked the requisite lush, warmth. The lower frequencies also failed to make an impact and were absent in the mix.

The speakers clearly take inspiration from the iconic Mini Cooper.

The micro-USB and 3.5mm port can be found at the back of the speakers.
