Audi recently introduced a new lighting technology called Matrix LED, which links 50 independently-controlled LEDs to its camera system to adjust for different traffic situations. For example, it will automatically dim the headlights when it detects oncoming traffic to avoid blinding other road users. It can also use GPS data to automatically turn on the high beam when driving in suburban and rural areas. Along with Audi’s night vision system and detection system, the system can even program the LED lights to flash at potential threats such as pedestrians or animals. This serves as a warning to both the driver and the pedestrian or animal.
