Apple Switches to Intel

The iMac G5 introduced in 2004 solidified the iMac’s new all-in-one look going forward, with all its components hidden behind the screen. The iMac released in 2006 looked the same, but was more significant: It was the first Mac to use Intel’s x86 processors and marked the company’s transition from IBM’s PowerPC processors.
