Grocery delivery may not be as glamorous as aerial drones, but the food sector is a huge business. After all, everyone eats – especially so in the U.S. Bezos has been trying to capture a slice of that pie for the last five years now, and trials of Prime Fresh, Amazon’s grocery delivery service, have been running since 2009 in Seattle, with new trials in Los Angeles and San Francisco added this year. The subscription-based service charges customers $299 a year to receive same-day and early-morning delivery of fresh groceries and other items. If Amazon can combine Prime Fresh with Prime Air, just think of the possibilities: craving for ice cream? Have it air delivered to your door within hours.
