SPY VS. SPY

HWM (Singapore) - - ED'S NOTE - Zachary Chan EDITOR

That was one of the first video games I played and a franchise that I still remember to this day. I grew up watching James Bond, Impossible Mission and a different kind of Avengers. Before I knew about aliens, dragons, superheroes or galaxies far far away, I was going to grow up as a secret agent (or a ninja).

Well, we all know how that turned out. Still, helming a magazine has its privileges and I can indulge my fantasies every now and then.

We’re at the end of another year of techno wizardry and while I can seem a little jaded at times, I am quite thankful I live in an age where one can readily get their hands on cool gadgets any spy would kill for 20 years ago. The spy genre also seems to be undergoing resurgence somewhat with the Hollywood machine pumping out movie after movie from Kingsman to Spy to the latest James Bond vehicle, Spectre. So, of course we would dedicate this issue of HWM to all things spy worthy.

Forget cheerful Santa and a white Christmas, our team’s curated a list of gear for the holidays that is fit for any spy wannabe. And it doesn’t just stop with the annual gift guide, we have stories about taking down the internet, evasive driving and our own top secret report on the state of the tech industry in 2015.

Trust us, we’re professionals. #famouslastwords
