MB&F LEGACY MACHINE PERPETUAL
By aiming to reinvent the perpetual calendar, MB&F earned a Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve award for its Legacy Machine Perpetual in 2016. Using a patent-pending ‘mechanical processor’, the timepiece is designed to be foolproof against damage to the movement caused by clumsy manipulation. The processor also addresses date skips, another hiccup commonly found in perpetual calendars. On the LM Perpetual, the date hand automatically jumps to the first of the following month, regardless of the date on which the previous month ended.
The timepiece’s skeletonised movement is showcased underneath a full glass dial, with the tiny components and sub-dials appearing to float in mid-air, as in a snow dome. The watch is newly available in a limited edition with a purple face.
