Embraer Offers the Longest Warranty in the Sky
WHEN EMBRAER ENTERED THE BUSINESS JET MARKET IN 2000, it brought to the table its vast experience in creating and servicing commercial airliners. Two years later, the first Embraer Legacy business jet took to the skies, promising customers the reliability and maintenance capabilities that commercial airlines highly valued. The path towards becoming a world-class business jet maker was forged.
Embraer’s latest entrant is the result of another combination — the Legacy 650E, fusing the best characteristics of Embraer’s popular Legacy 600 and
650. While safety, performance, comfort and price are key factors for a buyer, reliability helps seal the deal. And this is what makes the Legacy 650E turn heads and spur insider conversation — Embraer is so confident in the aircraft that it has offered a 10-year or 10,000-hour systems and components warranty as part of the 650E’s standard package.
It is something never before been offered for a business jet. The manufacturer’s confidence stems from the fact that the 650E is a variant of the 650, which has a “heritage of robustness and near-perfect dispatch reliability”, says Marco Tulio Pellegrini, President & CEO, Embraer Executive Jets. The Legacy 650E combines the design characteristics of the super midsize Legacy 600 with the range of the large-cabin Legacy 650. It means it can accomplish even steep approaches and hot and high performance, while maintaining low operating costs.
At the same time, the 650E increases the value offer with the same list price as the 600, yet offering substantial upgrades to the flight deck and passenger cabin. These include auto-throttle, which not only simplifies the pilots’ job, but also improves fuel efficiency. Synthetic Vision System (SVS) is also now a standard feature, as part of the newest version of Honeywell’s Primus Elite Advanced Features package. SVS provides pilots with a computer-generated view of what’s ahead, making lowvisibility operations significantly safer. Two iPads come

with mounting systems, making it easier for pilots to peruse them for critical information.
Even if passengers don’t notice the flight deck enhancements, they will appreciate the cabin upgrades. With room for up to 14 passengers, the cabin can be segmented into three distinct zones. A fully equipped galley will keep hunger at bay, even for flights of up to nine hours, given the Legacy 650E’s range of 3,900 nm (plus NBAA IFR reserves). It is enough to fly non-stop between Singapore and Sydney.
Whether passengers choose to work or relax, time aboard the Legacy 650E will fly by with Honeywell’s Ovation Select entertainment and cabin management system. It provides Wi-Fi internet access, as well as full HD in-flight entertainment. For added comfort, the Legacy 650E has room for two lavatories, and provides direct access to the in-flight baggage compartment.
And should Legacy 650E customers really need to avail of the unique 10-year, 10,000-hour warranty for OEM and supplier systems and components, service is available from one of Embraer’s 46 service centres around the world — including 14 in Asia-Pacific.
The Legacy 650E is scheduled to enter service with its launch customer in the first quarter of this year.
