Breitling Superocean Héritage Chronoworks
The Breitling Chronoworks lab is analogous to a professional team of engine experts in automotive racing, developing and testing cutting- edge technologies to elevate the performance of its calibres. For its debut showing, the think tank turned its attention to the brand’s star movement, the Calibre 01, optimising it with five new efficiency- enhancing innovations. These include a ceramic movement chassis ( baseplate and bridges), silicon escapement and wheels, a variable- inertia balance, and elastic toothing in the vertical- clutch chronograph mechanism ( by means of a nickel- phosphorous structure), all to jointly reduce friction and energy loss for a breakthrough increase in power reserve from 70 to 100 hours. The reworked engine sits within the stellar Superocean Héritage, interpreted in all black matt ceramic with contrast white markers and a transparent case back that reveals the underlying technologies driven by a black oscillating weight.
