SLIM NOTE Bulgari Octo Finissimo Minute Repeater

Size matters, as Bulgari continues to attain superlatives in the superfine with its Octo Finissimo timepieces. After the tourbillon in 2014, it now unveils the world’s thinnest minute repeater at an overall thickness of 6.85mm – a legitimate triumph, as far as records show. To achieve optimal acoustics within the smallest possible space, the striking watch uses titanium for its case and dial, employing the metal’s hardness and low- density as a good sounding board. Furthermore, the hour markers and small seconds counter are cut open on the dial to allow sound to resonate within the case, amplifying the chimes. An “all- or- nothing” pusher for the mechanism allows 50m water resistance (unlike traditional lever-style activators), while the 40mm sandblasted frame provides a modernity that belies the serious watchmaking within, making it suitable for daily wear.
