Get ready to bring more power to the pool: Creatine can improve your swimming performance, a new

study published in The Journal Of Sports Medicine And Physical Fitness suggests. After men “loaded” themselves with 20g of creatine for six days, they felt less fatigued and did better in a series of swimming sprints. “Such sprints use up your body’s adenosine triphosphate or ATP – its energy currency,” says nutrition consultant Dr Mike Roussell. “Supplementing with creatine helps your body regenerate that ATP, boosting power and endurance.” He recommends adding 5g of creatine to your post-workout drink.
