Re­searchers stud­ied nearly 45,000 men to look for a link be­tween their drink­ing habits and their risk of death in the next five to 20 years. Turns out, ex­ceed­ing about 1.6 drinks a day erases any al­co­hol-re­lated health ben­e­fit and in­creases mor­tal­ity risk. But if you stop drink­ing, some liver dam­age may be re­versible within six to 12 months.
