A celebration of the Patek Philippe Nautilus

At the height of the stainless steel luxury timepiece trend, Gérald Genta designed a watch that went on to redefine Patek Philippe’s role in the industry. In an interview that Genta gave before his passing, he described how he began to sketch a watch in a restaurant after some people who work ed at Patek Philippe walked in. He drew a case shape on a piece of paper and handed it to them. The rest, as they say, was history. After producing that said watch in 1976, Patek Philippe introduced several complications but took care to remain faithful to the original. It’s a watch that many a man has come to love and covet, myself included. We wait with bated breath to see how the brand will celebrate the Nautilus this year.
