Furry lifesavers

“A blood transfusion is not a cure. However, it can buy time for the patient’s condition to stabilise and improve the animal’s chances of survival,” says Dr Anthony Goh, senior veterinarian at Mount Pleasant Vet Centre (Gelenggang). Under the Mount Pleasant Blood Donor Programme, dogs and cats can donate blood.

Furry heroes like Mocha and Mittens have donated blood under the programme. These heroes had a rough start in life—Mittens was found in a drain and Mocha was given up by his family. Now, with the support of their paw-rents, they are making a difference in the lives of fellow furry ones. For more information, visit mountpleasantvetgroup.wordpress.com.
