Warm greetings and good fortune to all Pinnacle readers!
This year, we celebrate an auspicious “Year of the Horse” with style. Those of our clients who were fortunate enough to secure a Limited Collection Ghost from the “Majestic Horse Collection” will know that the Rolls-Royce Bespoke division has been working tirelessly to produce this uniquely crafted masterpiece at the home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood. The car presents a contemporary re-imagining of the traditional Chinese representation of the horse, with beautifully handcrafted wood marquetry in the interior and specially designed horse motifs on the exterior.
We also recently commemorated a decade at Goodwood, England, with the exclusive “Home of Rolls-Royce Collection ”car, featuring an incredible 170 sections of veneer made up of 11 varieties of wood, and Bespoke motifs composed of 112,533 stitches applied through precision embroidery. All these underline, once again, why Goodwood is the centre of manufacturing excellence for super-luxury cars, thanks to a unique combination of traditional craftsmanship, cutting-edge technology and world-class Bespoke design.
If you haven’t been to Goodwood, please talk to a dealer to arrange a visit and experience first-hand the Goodwood Revival – a fun, period re-enactment of the exquisite culture surrounding vintage and classic cars. Our new owners are finding that Rolls-Royce isn’t just a thoroughly modern brand; it is a way of life that celebrates an illustrious heritage.
It’s these facets that have led celebrities and, increasingly, younger buyers to regard us as the epitome of modern luxury. In Australia, for example, every car we delivered to customers last year was bespoke. In this issue, we talk with a couple who went to great lengths to ensure their Phantom is in their favourite colour. You’ll also read about Wraith, the most powerful and dynamic Rolls-Royce ever created. The ultimate Gran Turismo, it’s our boldest statement yet – immensely stylish with rakish lines, engaging and yet highly practical for four persons. Our Pinnacle writer had a ball with his drive through Arizona.
I am very happy to report that Rolls-Royce Motor Cars delivered the fourth successive record year for its global sales in 2013. It has been a remarkable 10 years for the brand and we intend to sustain that. We and the Board of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars are already writing the next chapter of Rolls-Royce for the coming decade. And we look forward to retaining our loyal customers and welcoming new ones to the world of Rolls-Royce super-luxury motoring.
I hope you enjoy this issue of Pinnacle.
