Lazy, luxurious ways to keep your skin smooth and your contours shapely — these products and spa treats will have you looking summer-ready, writes PEARLYN THAM

THERE ARE A myriad of aesthetics treatments to tuck in a plump tummy, lift sagging skin, pummel away cellulite and, in short, make you put away the Spanx for a while. But you’ll need effort and patience, and — for some more intensive procedures — a high pain threshold and time to rest.

While body firming, toning and smoothing products can’t give you the same results that an aesthetics treatment might, they are an easier and more routine way to at least make your skin smoother, softer and more taut, and can work in tandem with your fortnightly or monthly treatments.

After all, body care products mostly work on the primary premise of keeping skin well-hydrated and so, firmer and less prone to sagging, stretch marks and cellulite. We do admit, some formulas are purely cosmetic but oh-so fun to use and apply — think body lotions or mists that layer skin with a light veil of shimmer, so that you are galaperfect in moments. And if you choose one that is scented similarly to your favourite designer perfume, you can be sure that your fragrance will be layered to last longer throughout the evening.

When it comes to pampering our bodies, we’re also fans of spa treatments — remember they were long here before cellulite busters and radiofrequency procedures became mainstream. While most of us love an invigorating massage, spas also offer hardcore skin-exfoliating scrubs and moisturising wraps to give your body a healthy lustre in the most luxurious way possible.
