To get a huge mood boost, have a ba­nana, salad or frankly any fruit or veg­etable. With ev­ery ad­di­tional serv­ing of pro­duce peo­ple ate daily, re­searchers mea­sured an in­crease in hap­pi­ness and well-be­ing, a re­cent study of more than 12,000 men and women found. The dif­fer­ence between zero serv­ings a day and eight was equiv­a­lent to land­ing a job af­ter be­ing un­em­ployed! Sci­en­tists aren’t sure why these foods have such a pow­er­ful ef­fect, but pre­vi­ous re­search shows that their vi­ta­mins may help in­crease your lev­els of sero­tonin, the feel-good hor­mone.
