King of Mooncakes 100% PREMIUM TOP GRADE PURE MAO SHAN WANG DURIAN MOONCAKE IN ORGANIC PANDAN SNOWSKIN

$42 for two; $74 for four Peony Jade, Keppel Club, 10 Bukit Chermin Road (from Aug 1 to Sept 19) and #02-02, Blk 3A Clarke Quay (from Aug 8 to Sept 19); tel: 6659-4159. The organic pandan skin was powdery, but the pulpy durian puree was a unanimous favourite – luscious, bittersweet and not overly cloying.

DURIAN MINI SNOWSKIN MOONCAKES $59 for eight mini mooncakes Regent Singapore, tel: 6725-3239. Available from Aug 12 to Sept 19. We liked the fragrant durian puree, which was smooth and rich. But the snowskin was a tad lumpy and some found it too sweet.

“MAO SHAN WANG” SNOWSKIN MOONCAKES

$42 for two; $72 for four Deli, Goodwood Park Hotel, tel: 6730-1867/1868. Available from Aug 5 to Sept 19. We loved how the thick, chewy skin melted into the durian filling, though the latter was a bit too pasty. It would have been nice to see larger chunks of durian pulp.
