We can’t help you skip the hour-long wait for a table at celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s Jamie’s Italian, but we can save you the time you’d normally need to mull over the huge menu – just order these stellar dishes. Caution: They don’t scrimp on portions, so sharing is recommended. STARTERS The Antipasti Planks ($17 a person) are a colourful signature of Jamie Oliver’s. The Meat Plank features four cold cuts, a root vegetable salad, pickles, mini mozzarella balls, and pecorino cheese on flatbread. We preferred the Fish Plank a tiny bit more, with its crispy breaded seafood, beetroot-cured salmon, smoked mackerel pate on toast, and juicy clams and mussels. MAINS The pastas are freshly handmade on-site every day, and boast a silky texture with a springy bite. The Tagliatelle Bolognese ($15/$22) impressed us with its ribbons of thick pasta soaked in a rich ragu of beef and pork, and topped with crunchy breadcrumbs. DESSERT The Tiramisu ($11.50), served with orange-infused mascarpone, is an interesting twist on the Italian favourite. But what we really loved was the Creamy Panna Cotta ($9) with berry compote, which wobbled onto our table and straight into our bellies within minutes.
