Up to 13 per cent of obese chil­dren from six to 18 years old suf­fer from OSA, says Dr Lim Ing Ruen, an ear, nose and throat sur­geon. “Snoring in a child may in­di­cate OSA. In chil­dren, OSA of­ten presents as neu­robe­havioural prob­lems like rest­less­ness, hy­per­ac­tiv­ity, ag­gres­sion or poor learn­ing in school,” she says, adding that if you see th­ese symp­toms, you should take your child to the doc­tor for a check-up.
