1 Allow your kids to decide what they need “Sometimes, parents provide tuition for their children as a ‘security blanket’ for themselves, not for their kids. Let your child decide whether they need tuition and how much they need.”

2 Making shared parenting a smoother ride “Both parties need to understand that it’s a partnership and respect each other’s rights and need for personal space. Children growing up under such care will also be more likely to learn about compromise and support.”

3 Stay healthy as a stay-at-home mum “Set aside time for yourself – sing in the bath, read a book and watch television so that you don’t shut yourself off from the world.”
