Start wind­ing the clock back to your kids’ reg­u­lar bed­times. They’re likely to have slept late – and slept in – all through De­cem­ber. Have them pre­tend they’re in a dif­fer­ent time zone. So in­stead of eat­ing at 7.30pm, you’re now eat­ing at 6pm. In­stead of sleep­ing at 11pm, it’s now 9.30pm. Give them a longer run-up to bed­time, to help them set­tle down.
