The highlight at this modern Korean restaurant is the 8 Colours Set ($98, serves four), a platter of thick Berkshire pork belly strips marinated in eight ways – original, wine, ginseng, curry, garlic, herb, miso and red pepper paste, grilled a la minute on the griddle that’s on every table. The bolder flavours (herb, garlic, curry, and red pepper paste) were our favourites, and we liked that we could choose just these flavours to make up the set. The best thing is, the restaurant staff will do the cooking for you.
The set comes with a Seafood Bean Paste Stew and Scorched Rice Soup, so the substantial feast can actually feed up to six diners. What kept us going was the complimentary banchan (appetisers) of warm kimchi and assorted pickles, especially the palate-refreshing pickled lotus roots and small onions that made the hearty meal lighter.
