It was gifts and deals ga­lore at the an­nual Beauty and Bri­dal Fair, held last Novem­ber. BY AZLINDA SAID

It was a bustling weekend from Nov 8 to 10, when read­ers flocked to Ma­rina Square for the Beauty and Bri­dal Fair 2013.

Hours be­fore the fair opened, ea­ger beavers had formed a queue in the hopes of be­ing one of the first to score fan­tas­tic goodie bags or prizes upon buy­ing or sub­scrib­ing to Sim­ply Her, Her World, Fe­male, Nuyou or Shape mag­a­zines. By the time the fair opened at 11am, the queue had snaked half­way around the atrium.

Up for grabs: some 24 sub­scrip­tion gifts worth up to $1,099, in­clud­ing a Sharp Heal­sio wa­ter oven, skin­care prod­ucts, a Timex watch, Gold­heart jew­ellery and more. Visi­tors who bought the Novem­ber is­sue of the five mag­a­zines, or the Septem­ber is­sue of Her World Brides, at the fair, re­ceived a goodie bag worth over $30, for each mag­a­zine pur­chased.

Another bonus: the first 500 read­ers to present four re­demp­tion coupons on Nov 10 from the Novem­ber 2013 is­sues of Sim­ply Her, Her World, Fe­male, Nuyou, or Shape re­ceived a free Tocco Ten­ero pouch worth $69.

There was some­thing for shop­pers, too. Those who spent at least $100 in a sin­gle re­ceipt at the fair were el­i­gi­ble for a sure-win lucky dip, with prizes worth up to $5,000. Four peo­ple who spent at least $200 in one re­ceipt also scored a Dual Swing Re­frig­er­a­tor from Sharp’s But­ter­fly Se­ries, worth $899, in the grand draw.

Visi­tors to the three-day fair had a chance to check out other ex­hibitors, in­clud­ing A. Me­nar­ini, Ad­vanced Nu­traceu­ti­cal, Spa Club at Beach Road, CLS Touche, Fit­ness First, Jyunka, Philips, Tocco Toscano, Bliss Bri­dal Cre­ations, Bri­dal Con­cept, The Fe­line Bri­dal, French Wed­ding, My Dream Wed­ding, White Link, Yvonne Cre­ative and Yu Xuan Men.

Two beauty demon­stra­tions – by Jyunka and Al­pha Luma from Ad­vanced Nu­traceu­ti­cal – as well as two mar­riage work­shops were also pre­sented.
