The corners in your home are square, so doesn’t it make sense to use an appropriately shaped appliance when cleaning these tight spaces? The Hom- Bot Square from LG meets that requirement. With its squarish design, this smart vacuum cleaner tackles corners 89 per cent more efficiently than conventional round models.

The secret to its effectiveness is its Corner Detecting system. Besides having the right shape for corners, the appliance also boasts long brushes ( 1.5cm longer than in an earlier version) that get to areas other cleaners ignore. Its corner- detecting sensors tell the device when it has reached the edge of a room, when to turn and when to stop. Sensitive Dual Eye 2.0 TM camera sensors scan the floor and ceiling, sampling multiple images every second and analysing them to generate an accurate map of the space – even in dim environments.

If there are obstacles in its path, its ultrasonic and infrared sensors allow it to detect and avoid them. Carpeted floors are no problem either – upon sensing a different surface, the Smart Turbo mode automatically converts its cleaning mode to Turbo. Then after cleaning, it turns off the Turbo mode.

The device is also convenient to use as it has a low noise level and a large dust bin easily removed from the top. Its bigger HEPA 11 filter traps harmful dust particles, and helps the gadget to release the cleaned air back into your home.

The Hom- Bot Square ($ 1,299) is available at all major electrical stores.
