How to make lip colour last

1 Ex­fo­li­ate. Dab some lip balm onto a soft tooth­brush and gen­tly brush your lips.

2 Mois­turise. Plumped-up, smooth, hy­drated lips are the per­fect base for lip makeup to glide over smoothly. “Ap­ply lip balm be­fore you ap­ply base makeup for your face so that the balm has time to be ab­sorbed,” says Cosme Decorte in­ter­na­tional makeup artist, Osamu Dobashi.

3 Cre­ate a colour base. Add light pres­sure as you ap­ply lip­stick so that the colour sinks into each mi­cro­fold on your lips, then blot off the ex­cess

4 with tis­sue pa­per. Add pow­der. Osamu says you can “use your fin­ger to lightly dab pow­der on your lips”, to help your

5 lip­stick stay put. Reap­ply lip­stick. And you’re good to go!
