Creme de la Creme

Reputed to be the creator of the rst modern-day beauty cream, iconic 154-year-old French brand, Crème Simon, is making its comeback with a luscious range of botanical-based skincare.

At the peak of its popularity, Crème Simon was a household name in Europe and the US. Founded by Joseph Simon in 1860, it was one of the most soughtafter French beauty brands and the choice of film stars like Brigitte Bardot. Its speciality: plant-based products with pleasing textures that were a stark contrast to the greasy beeswax creams of the day. It became a roaring success, garnering awards and selling everywhere from New York to Shanghai.

CLIMATE COMFORT

This year, Crème Simon is set to take Singapore by storm. With its rich heritage in beauty and skincare, the brand is launching a complete line of botanical skincare designed to deliver a pampering experience amid the hustle and bustle of city life. Specially created for our hot and humid climate, all the products in this line boast lightweight formulas that are free of parabens, silicones and alcohol. The formulations also utilise a unique extraction process created by Joseph Simon, which preserves the plants’ freshness and fragrance without harming the environment. The two star products are Lymphatic Contouring & Lifting Gel, $98 (75ml) and Crème Universelle, $68 (30ml).

GET IN SHAPE

The V-shaped face is an Asian obsession, but this French brand looks set to help us achieve it. Its Lymphatic Contouring & Lifting Gel contains rose, iris and jasmine extracts, which are said to help oxygenate skin and boost the elimination of toxins to de-puff and slim the face. At the same time, a combination of seven flowers and plants, known as the Activ-Fleur Complex, gently brightens skin, while an exclusive wheat oligosaccharides complex is said to further boost the brightening effect by inhibiting melanin production. The luxurious gel-to-oil formula rinses off thoroughly to reveal a clearer and brighter complexion, with more sharply defined contours.

UNIVERSAL POPULARITY

The original Crème Simon was known for its ability to soothe dryness and irritation on any skin type. It was so respected that it was listed in the French Pharmacoepia – the official reference book of medicines used by doctors. Now known as Crème Universelle, the revamped formula is oil-free and includes hyaluronic acid and shea butter to moisturise, and vitamin-rich aloe vera to soothe skin. Use it on chapped lips, dry elbows and cracked heels, to calm the sting of sunburn, or to moisturise cuticles.

Specially created for our hot and humid climate, all the Crème Simon products in this line boast lightweight plant-based

formulas that are free of parabens, silicones and alcohol.
