You don’t have to wait the shower for your hair conditioner to penetrate your tresses. SIMONE WU tries five that can be rinsed off right after application.
Hair conditioners that can be rinsed off right after application.
Label.m Moisturising Conditioner, $38 (300ml)
This creamy conditioner, with its blend of aloe, echinacea and currant extracts, and wheat and soy proteins, went on easily and washed off quickly. It left my damaged hair soft for at least 12 hours and frizzfree until midday, and I liked its subtle, refreshing citrus scent, too!
Percy & Reed Splendidly Silky Moisturising Conditioner, $32 (250ml)
One of the more lightweight conditioners of the lot, this comes packed with blueberry extract, grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil and aloe vera gel. It was easy to work into my hair but took a fair amount of time to rinse out. It did a decent job of moisturising.
Redken All Soft Conditioner, $24 (300ml)
Its rich and creamy formula took a little longer to work into my hair and rinse out. But I liked how it left my dry, medium-thick locks so much softer after one use. I could run my fingers through my hair without tangles for up to 10 hours.
Shiseido Professional The Hair Care Aqua Intensive Treatment 1, $42 (250g)
A little goes a long way with this product – I only needed half the amount I used for the other conditioners to cover my hair from mid-length to the ends. It felt lightweight and spread easily and evenly. While it took the longest to rinse out of my hair, I liked how it left my tresses soft and manageable from day to night.
Mucota K/51 Conditioner, $56 (300ml)
As this had the lightest texture of the lot and washed out quickly, I didn’t expect it to have long-lasting moisturising benefits. But it was able to keep my dry, frequently-coloured hair soft and tangle-free for more than 15 hours. Pure bliss.
