Banish the jitters when you give a speech or make a presentation, with these tips from Preetha Damo, co-director of talent management agency Voices For Hire.

Have a script – but don’t memorise it. A script helps you to organise your thoughts, but memorising it will make you sound boring and rehearsed, says Preetha.

Practise a lot. Rehearse your speech aloud in different ways, in front of a mirror, to give you an idea of how you look and sound to your audience.

Stay steady. If a situation catches youu off guard, make sure your voice remainsns strong and powerful.

Take the lead. Asian audiences are shy. So if you want them to raise se their hands in response to your question,on, raise yours as you ask.
