1 Sift ¼ cup all-pur­pose our, 2 tbsp unsweet­ened co­coa pow­der, 3 tsp cas­tor sugar, a pinch of salt and ¼ tsp bak­ing pow­der in a mix­ing bowl.

2 Add ¼ cup + 1 tbsp milk and 2 tbsp veg­etable oil, and whisk un­til the bat­ter is smooth.

3 Pour the bat­ter into a mi­crowave-safe mug, leav­ing some space at the top to al­low the cake to rise slightly. 4 Drop 1 square of cho­co­late into the bat­ter. 5 Mi­crowave on high for 1min. The cook­ing time varies for each oven, so keep watch over your cake.
