The fi­nal look of the home is re­mark­ably sen­su­ous, with dark walls through­out. The de­sign team used spe­cial lam­i­nate walls and cabi­net door pan­elling from Europe. They gave spe­cial at­ten­tion to the grains on the lam­i­nates, and how they joined and ended on the walls. These fine de­tails can be ob­served through­out, even on the kitchen cab­i­nets and cus­tomised fur­ni­ture. “Be­sides the an­tique fur­ni­ture, ev­ery­thing else was crafted with be­spoke de­tails and pro­por­tions, cus­tomised up­hol­stery ma­te­ri­als, and the best wood and brass fin­ishes,” says Tan. The orig­i­nal struc­tures of the bay win­dow spa­ces was also re­designed into seat­ing and stor­age ar­eas for bet­ter use of space.
