The final look of the home is remarkably sensuous, with dark walls throughout. The design team used special laminate walls and cabinet door panelling from Europe. They gave special attention to the grains on the laminates, and how they joined and ended on the walls. These fine details can be observed throughout, even on the kitchen cabinets and customised furniture. “Besides the antique furniture, everything else was crafted with bespoke details and proportions, customised upholstery materials, and the best wood and brass finishes,” says Tan. The original structures of the bay window spaces was also redesigned into seating and storage areas for better use of space.
