Roger Dubuis tookt a calculated risk this year and focused its attentionatte on the fairer gender with an updated line-lineup of its Velvet collection. This year’s premise was evident from the marketing collaterals and the booth itself, which was set up like a salon, with mannequins wearing elaborate gowns lining the entrance.
There is a strong element of fashion underlying the collection, with pieces that are aesthetically intense, such as the Velvet by Massaro, that was designed in collaboration with famed shoe designer Massaro. The Black Velvet is inherently more mysterious; with a body of dark carbon fibre set with neon-blue Paraiba tourmalines. Regardless of its ever-changing personas, the Velvet conceals an intelligent heart within, and is equipped with the Geneva Seal-certified RD821 automatic movement. We had a chat with product design director Lionel Favre to find out more about this collection.
