IWC SCHAFFHAUSEN DECODING THE BEAUTY OF TIME GALA DINNER
The temperature might have been sub-zero, but the atmosphere at the star-studded IWC Schaffhausen gala dinner in Geneva was positively sizzling. Coats were shrugged off to reveal stunning couture gowns, and there was enough star power in that one room to generate energy for the entire city. Held every year during the week-long Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie fair in January to celebrate the Swiss watchmaker’s latest novelties, this year’s affair was themed Decoding the Beauty of Time. The event was styled in the manner of an Italian palazzo, taking guests on a journey through time to the Renaissance era, where Leonardo da Vinci lived and created his greatest works. His philosophy: “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” lies at the heart of the brand’s newest collection, Da Vinci. Accents of gold and a three-dimensional Flower of Life motif, inspired by da Vinci’s Codex Atlanticus, set the scene for the evening, heralding a soiree of decadence and debauchery fuelled by tipples galore and the presence of celebrity friends of the brand, including sporting giants Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg and Arsene Wenger, supermodels Karolina Kurkova
