Tatler Singapore

Roaring Style

-

e are beside ourselves with pride and excitement to present to you this issue, featuring once again many firsts for Singapore Tatler. After more than a decade of bringing you the highly anticipated and successful Singapore Tatler Fashion Hall of Fame, we have re-engineered one of our signature events of the year into the inaugural Singapore Tatler Fashion Awards. Our deserving recipients will be unveiled at the Parkroyal on Pickering on April 7. For the first time in the history of Singapore Tatler, we are putting out a five-cover edition, honouring the five candidates whom we have selected to be the first recipients of these awards. As many of you know, team Tatler keeps our radar up and our eyes peeled at various events throughout the year, scanning the horizon for personalities who dress appropriately, style themselves creatively, and always manage to stand out. What we look for are not just the well-dressed ladies and gentlemen, for that is easily sorted by making the right purchase decisions—but rather those who effortlessly bring out the best in whatever they’ve put together, and have over time managed to define a look for themselves. All this intel comes together in our meeting with the (not very secret) selection panel, which pores through hundreds of pictures, discusses the social suitability, fashion background and likeability of each candidate, and finally decides on the shortlist. What a tough job! Seriously though, our friends in high society give us plenty to debate over, as there is no shortage of worthy candidates. While we continue to keep our eyes and ears open and add to our dossiers on next year’s candidates, we also welcome any suggestions or intel you may have— send us an e-mail at sgedit@edipressemedia.com. While you peruse the gorgeous images of our style set in this issue (p.152), don’t miss our coverage on the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (p.110) where we bring you deeper insights into the best timepieces launched at the Geneva fair this year. Team Tatler also brings you the new travel and lifestyle experiences from Amanjiwo in Borobudur, Indonesia (p.180), and Dubai’s most buzzed-about property, The Royal Atlantis Residences, which is set to complete in 2019 (p.182). Enjoy the brief escapade we offer through our reads, and look out for fresh ideas and stories to inspire you, next month!
