Fol­low­ing the re­lease of the LC 500 coupe, Lexus has un­veiled another stun­ner: the 2018 LS 500. The fifth gen­er­a­tion of the mar­que’s LS Se­ries, it is re­ally a four-door ver­sion of the LC 500. For the bet­ter part of 28 years, the LS se­ries has been us­ing a su­perbly re­fined V8 en­gine—first as a petrol-only ver­sion, then later com­ple­mented with a hy­brid ver­sion. But in 2017, for the first time in Lexus his­tory, the LS Se­ries is be­ing in­tro­duced with a 415hp, twin-turbo, 3.5L V6 en­gine, as well as in a hy­brid-en­gine vari­ant called the LS 500h. No men­tion of a V8 ver­sion of the LS 500 has been made as yet. With this new model, too, Lexus is boldly chart­ing a com­pletely dif­fer­ent course in terms of styling.
