DORIS GOH, IN HER 50s

Chief Marketing Officer, Two Roads Hospitality

Singapore Women's Weekly (Singapore) - - GREAT WOMEN OF OUR TIME -

Doris Goh wants to elevate your travel experience. And that’s just what she’s done in her role as Chief Marketing Officer of Two Roads Hospitality, which owns plush boutique brand Alila Spa & Resorts. “What is luxury? Luxury is graciousness. It’s about taking care of one another and reaching out so we can be a community,” she says. “When you go on holiday you want to take back that feeling that makes you feel inspired. We can give you that because we work in harmony with the villagers near our properties, to give you an experience of the local culture.” For instance, guests at Alila can look forward to trying their hand at ancient Javanese arts in Solo, or distilling Damask rose water with Arab families in Oman. Like Alila, Doris is collecting a long list of accolades. She was recently awarded CMO Asia’s Leadership Excellence Award as one of Asia’s 50 Women Leaders in Marketing.

WORDS TO LIVE BY: “If you’re not happy doing what you’re doing, you’ll never be good at it.”

NEXT UP: “I want people to understand how fragile the world’s ecosystem is, so I really want to drive home the message of sustainable tourism.”
