Stepping into Cherry Garden is akin to entering a Zen garden; an immediate feeling of peace and calm descends upon you. The decor is stately and soothing, traditional yet charming, with warm orange hues and dark teak panels. Ideal for quiet lunches and intimate dinners, attentive service staff are always on hand to offer menu suggestions, beverages, and fresh plates.

Cherry Garden’s take on Cantonese cuisine is impressive. A musthave is its signature charcoal-roasted barbecue meat platter, featuring juicy roasted duck bearing crisp thin skin, pork belly with crunchy crackling and tender honey-glazed Kurobuta pork char siew. Another outstanding dish is the fragrant golden pumpkin soup cradling morel mushrooms and diced chicken.

The menu also offers a wide variety of live seafood, from abalone and sea cucumber, to fish and lobster. From its specialities, try the oven-baked cod fillet, marinated with honey and glazed with black pepper, an enticing combination of sweet and spicy. The chilli crabmeat in mantou cups, meanwhile, offer an interesting, modern take on a local favourite.

Round off the meal with the aromatic stir-fried rice vermicelli showered with prawns and scallops, silver sprouts and yellow chives, and gorgeously scented with sesame oil and wok hei. For dessert, the cherries in nu er hong and aged wine jelly with lychee sorbet, as well as the cream of mango with pomelo and lime sorbet provide a refreshingly satisfying end.
