To dine at Odette is to feel welcome. With the unfolding of every multi-course meal, diners get to appreciate the clever use of sustainable produce, including ingredients from Southeast Asia and Japan, prepared in a modern French style. Each course is a feast for the senses; expect a liberal use of fresh herbs with whispers of spices to titillate the taste buds. One of chef-owner Julien Royer’s iconic dishes is the heirloom beetroot variation in which a picture-perfect deepred beet resides on a plate among soft white stracciatella artigiana, with their combined earthy and delicate tastes balanced by the sweetness of honey. The chef’s interpretation of the rosemarysmoked organic egg is faultless. The deep amber-coloured egg yolk in the smoked potato syphon, resembling cappuccino foam, has an added crunch from smoky chorizo Iberico morsels. There’s an impressive array of wines from regions around France as well as other wine-producing countries.
