Brimming with traditional and authentic Italian fare, Basilico, like many highend Italian restaurants in Singapore, uses high-quality, fresh ingredients in dishes that allow their natural flavours to shine. Come and taste Chef Luca Beccalli’s delightful signatures, which are available in the à la carte and buffet menus. The octopus in the antipasti and the seafood in the risotto were both expertly cooked, packing a bite while retaining their sweetness and brininess. The Angus tenderloin was served juicy and tender, with the meat grilled with Italian herbs. Other than the sumptuous Italian favourites, the restaurant is also famous for its cheese buffet, offering 40 types of artisanal cheeses. Despite being a busy Saturday evening and the staff very much on their toes— in fact, one staff member we spoke to told us that he had to take care of two sections of the restaurant that evening, with each having at least five tables— the ambience was warm, and the service friendly and sincere.
