Table’s stylish, modern interiors—think designer sofas and armchairs, mirrored walls and sleek ceiling fixtures—reflect its contemporary take on classic Indian favourites. It also feels like you’re dining in someone’s living room; in fact, the space serves double duty as the lobby of the Naumi Hotel. Start the meal with the pao bhajee (vegetarian mash), served in a martini glass with garlic crostini, before moving on to the murg tikka dhaba biryani. The fluffy basmati rice and succulent chicken, cooked in the style of the Punjab dhaba (roadside restaurants), is distinctively piquant thanks to its mix of spices. A perfect counterpoint to this is the sweet tomato-based curry of the paneer makhanwala. The highlight of the meal is the butter garlic prawns, a dish that’s decidedly more Italian than Indian. With its umami flavours, the juicy prawns are sautéed with garlic and come with a cheesy herb sauce you can sop up with garlic bread. End the meal on a sweet note with the classic gulab jamun or the salted caramel chikki ice cream.
