Featuring a round bezel in a cushion-shaped case, the 4500S has an unusual “shape in shape” form that was a hit with the reviewer, especially when coupled with its topnotch detailing. Its dial is layered and has an appealing depth. The watch also scores high in legibility, thanks to a cleaned-up dial design and elements like a pointer that indicates the date on a central date wheel. (Its predecessor had a similar date wheel, but the correct date was highlighted by a semi-transparent sapphire window.) Also worth pointing out is the quality finishing of the movement, the inhouse Calibre 5100, which bears the Geneva Seal.
