LES CREATEURS DU TEMPS (2004) Kazuyuki Takahashi For: Traditional-watchmaking fans with no time to read.
A book of over 100 images shot by Japanese photographer Kazuyuki Takahashi who also does commercial shoots for watch brands, Les Createurs du Temps (French for “the creators of time”) covers the work of Philippe Dufour and Daniel Roth.
Both based in the village of Le Sentier in the Vallee de Joux, the historic cradle of Swiss watchmaking, Philippe Dufour and Daniel Roth are two of the most accomplished watchmakers alive today. Each produces timepieces that adhere to the finest traditions of craftsmanship, with a tremendous degree of effort dedicated to hand-finishing. Takahashi’s book documents their work and also the indescribable spirit of craft and industry in the snowy mountains.
